Join a community of youth social entrepreneurs
The goal of YSESD is to establish an international network of youth social entrepreneurs who will benefit from a “talent platform”.
Here they will be able to:
- exchange ideas about potential or established social entrepreneurial ventures with colleagues,
- receive mentoring from successful social entrepreneurs,
- and pitch their projects to potential investors through “youth social entrepreneurial ventures competitions”.
All YSESD social enterprises are intended to make a significant contribution to the society or environment in which they operate.
YSESD completed Phase 1 of the project. Forty social entrepreneurs from Iraq, Pakistan and Turkey attended a 4-month long series of workshops,
which was held between December 2020 and March 2021.
At present, these alumni and new participants are working to develop Phase 2 of the project in 2022.
• Civic Engagement and Leadership
• Gender Empowerment
• Environmental Sustainability
• Public Health
• Energy and Climate Change
Administered by Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA, together with Migport social enterprise, with support provided by the Hollings Center for International Dialogue.
We are pleased to invite you to apply to Phase 2!
Our intent is to hold a hybrid workshop later this year in Abu Dhabi, have a "Demo Day" at the Hollings Center in Istanbul, and enroll our participants in YC Startup School. YSESD Phase 2 is open for social entrepreneurs from the MENA region, Turkey, Pakistan & the USA.
